Bypass AI detection
Bypass AI detectors: a guide and checker for all 12 big ones.
Every major AI detector looks for the same core patterns, but each weighs them differently. Pick yours below, or check your text against all of them at once.
Independent heuristic estimate of the signals detectors use (predictability, burstiness, stock AI phrasing, repetitive structure). It is not GPTZero, ZeroGPT or Turnitin, and real scores can differ.

Comparison
How the detectors differ
| Detector | Known for | Main signal | First fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPTZero | Perplexity + burstiness, sentence highlights | Perplexity | Break the rhythm: follow a long sentence with a short one. Aim for burstiness above 0.45 in the checker above. |
| ZeroGPT | Free % score, DeepAnalyse highlights | One headline percentage | Work on the yellow sentences only. They're what moves the percentage. |
| Turnitin | Institution-only AI writing indicator | Segment scoring | Don't rely on one-click humanizers. Turnitin specifically targets their output, so they can make a result worse. |
| Originality.ai | Strict, paid, built for publishers | Multiple models | Add first-hand experience: screenshots, tests you ran, prices you checked, quotes from real people. |
| Copyleaks | AI + plagiarism, LMS integrations | AI content detection | Cite and quote sources properly. Paraphrase matching catches lazy rewording. |
| Winston AI | Human score + OCR for images | Human score | Vary readability: mix plain short sentences with a few complex ones. |
| Sapling | Free, token-level highlighting | Token-level probabilities | Replace polite boilerplate with direct, specific sentences. |
| Scribbr | Student-focused, free & premium | AI percentage | Put your own argument first; AI essays restate the prompt and stay neutral. |
| QuillBot AI Detector | Four labels incl. AI-refined | Four categories | Don't paraphrase AI text with QuillBot and expect it to pass QuillBot's own detector. |
| Grammarly AI Detector | Free % plus Authorship proof | AI percentage | Turn on Authorship before you start writing important work. |
| Pangram | Low false-positive claims, research use | Large-scale classifier | Skip one-click humanizers here. Pangram is trained on their output. |
| Writer AI Detector | Free, short-text marketing check | Human-generated % | Delete buzzwords: seamless, elevate, unlock, cutting-edge, game-changer. |
Shared signals
Why one good rewrite helps with every detector
GPTZero, ZeroGPT, Turnitin, Originality.ai and the rest use different models, but they're all trained to tell apart text with machine patterns from text with human ones. The patterns overlap: predictable word choice, even sentence rhythm, generic claims, stock transitions and no first-hand detail. Fix those and your text improves on every detector at once.
Where they differ is strictness. ZeroGPT and Sapling react quickly to stock phrases. Turnitin, Originality.ai and Pangram also look for the fingerprints of one-click humanizers. Grammarly adds authorship tracking, which proves process rather than judging text.

FAQ
AI detector FAQ
Which AI detector is the most accurate?
It depends on the text. Pangram and Originality.ai are known as strict; GPTZero and Turnitin are the most widely used in education; ZeroGPT is popular but known for false positives.
Can one rewrite pass every AI detector?
Fixing the shared signals (predictability, uniform rhythm, stock AI phrasing and lack of specific detail) lowers scores across detectors. No rewrite is guaranteed to pass all of them.
Which detector do schools use?
Turnitin is the most common official tool, followed by Copyleaks and GPTZero. Students often self-check with Scribbr, QuillBot or ZeroGPT.
Which detector do SEO clients use?
Originality.ai is the most common in SEO and publishing, with Winston AI, Copyleaks and Writer also in use.
Use it the right way
Better writing beats gaming a score.
AI detectors are probabilistic and get things wrong, which is why it makes sense to check your text first. But the goal is clear, specific writing that is genuinely yours, not hiding AI use where it's banned.
- Check your school, employer or client's AI policy and disclose AI help when it's required.
- Never paraphrase someone else's work without citing it.
- Never invent sources, quotes or data.
- Keep drafts and version history. They're your best proof of authorship.
