Humanize Essays
Essays face the strictest detectors: Turnitin, GPTZero and Copyleaks. Paste your essay below to see which sentences look generated, then follow the steps to fix them properly.

Independent heuristic estimate of the signals detectors use (predictability, burstiness, stock AI phrasing, repetitive structure). It is not GPTZero, ZeroGPT or Turnitin, and real scores can differ.
Tell-tale signs
These are the patterns readers and detectors notice first. The checker above flags most of them automatically.
Before anything else, check your course's AI policy. Many courses allow AI for brainstorming or feedback but not for writing. The safest approach is to use AI as a tutor, not a ghostwriter.
For essays, what lowers detector scores is also what earns marks: a clear thesis, your own examples, specific readings with page numbers, and a conclusion that adds something. Turnitin specifically targets AI-paraphrased and humanizer output, so a one-click rewrite can make your essay look worse.
Write in Google Docs or Word online so version history exists. Keep notes and source PDFs. If you're questioned, that evidence matters more than any score. More in our student guide.
Prompt that works
Specific constraints beat vague instructions. Fill in the brackets with your own details:
(Only if your course allows AI help.) Give me feedback on this essay: where is my argument weakest, which claims need a source, and which sentences sound generic? Don't rewrite it for me.
Or compare rewrites from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini side by side in MultipleChat (free up to 10,000 words a day) and keep the version that sounds most like you.
Step by step
Paste the text into the checker and note the red sentences and stock phrases.
Delete or replace every phrase in the list above. Shorter is almost always better.
Names, numbers, dates, examples and opinions. This is the part AI can't fake.
Run it again. When it's mostly green and sounds like you out loud, you're done.

FAQ
Paste it into the free BypassZero checker, rewrite the red sentences, remove the stock phrases it lists, and add specific details only you know. Then check again.
Often, yes. Tools like GPTZero, ZeroGPT, Turnitin and Originality.ai look for predictable wording and even rhythm, which unedited AI text almost always has.
Yes. The BypassZero checker is free and shows what to fix. For rewriting, MultipleChat's humanizer is free up to 10,000 words a day and lets you compare several models' rewrites.
Editing AI drafts so they're accurate and sound like you is fine in most work settings. In schools and some jobs, AI use has rules; follow them and disclose when required.
Use it the right way
AI detectors are probabilistic and get things wrong, which is why it makes sense to check your text first. But the goal is clear, specific writing that is genuinely yours, not hiding AI use where it's banned.
