Humanize Cover letters
Recruiters see hundreds of ChatGPT cover letters a week, and some run AI detectors. Check yours below, then make it specific enough that only you could have written it.
Updated 2026-10-31
Independent heuristic estimate of the signals detectors use (predictability, burstiness, stock AI phrasing, repetitive structure). It is not GPTZero, ZeroGPT or Turnitin, and real scores can differ.
Tell-tale signs
These are the patterns readers and detectors notice first. The checker above flags most of them automatically.
The problem with AI cover letters isn't just detectors. It's that they're interchangeable. If you could swap in another company's name and the letter would still work, a recruiter will notice in five seconds.
A human cover letter has three things AI can't invent: a specific reason you want this job, a specific result you achieved (with a number), and your natural way of speaking. Add those, cut the adjectives, and keep it under 250 words.
Some applicant-tracking and hiring platforms include AI detection, and some recruiters paste letters into free detectors like ZeroGPT. More often, they simply skip letters that sound generic.
Prompt that works
Specific constraints beat vague instructions. Fill in the brackets with your own details:
Rewrite this cover letter in 200 words. First line: one specific thing about [company] I genuinely like. Then one story with a number from my experience: [achievement]. No adjectives like passionate, dynamic, results-driven. End with a plain sentence, not 'I look forward to…'.
Or compare rewrites from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini side by side in MultipleChat (free up to 10,000 words a day) and keep the version that sounds most like you.
Step by step
Paste the text into the checker and note the red sentences and stock phrases.
Delete or replace every phrase in the list above. Shorter is almost always better.
Names, numbers, dates, examples and opinions. This is the part AI can't fake.
Run it again. When it's mostly green and sounds like you out loud, you're done.

FAQ
Paste it into the free BypassZero checker, rewrite the red sentences, remove the stock phrases it lists, and add specific details only you know. Then check again.
Often, yes. Tools like GPTZero, ZeroGPT, Turnitin and Originality.ai look for predictable wording and even rhythm, which unedited AI text almost always has.
Yes. The BypassZero checker is free and shows what to fix. For rewriting, MultipleChat's humanizer is free up to 10,000 words a day and lets you compare several models' rewrites.
Editing AI drafts so they're accurate and sound like you is fine in most work settings. In schools and some jobs, AI use has rules; follow them and disclose when required.
Use it the right way
AI detectors are probabilistic and get things wrong, which is why it makes sense to check your text first. But the goal is clear, specific writing that is genuinely yours, not hiding AI use where it's banned.
